How to lock keyboard when away from computer?
Does anyone know of a way to disable the keyboard/mouse, when away from the computer, need something that
will work on win98, found a few commercial programs but unsure if these can be got around using control-alt-delete..
Any suggestions?

a screensaver password combined with a bios level password from bios setup might be a good route.
of course, the bios password could be cleared in a few seconds if they have access to opening the case... nothing is 100% secure, you just need to deter them.
removing your keyboard and mouse in windows98 will most likely cause you to have to force-off your computer and reboot, they probably wont work by just plugging them back in if they are ps2 and not usb

upgrade to a newer OS

Thanks guys.. kinda hard to unplug the keyboard on a laptop,, but hey ho..

In Win98, I think the screensaver password can prevent others from messing with your keyboard/mouse. Of course, they can restart your machine and log in (people can login to a Win98 machine without knowing the password), but they will not see what programs you are running after restarting your machine.
