Messages not seen in Outlook but seen in OWA - SBS2000

I have SBS 2000 with Windows 2000 SP4 and Exchange 2000 SP3 and Outlook 2000 SR-1
My Mailbox Store has reached limit of 16 GB
I have temporary increased limit to 17 GB - (MS KB813051) - to do this I needed to install KB824282 - September 2003 Exchange 2000 Server Post-Service Pack 3 Rollup.
After increasing and cleaning database two users have strange problem:
Some, not all, of their folders (Inbox in both cases) seems to be empty. Inbox is bold and there is a number of unread messeges between parenthesis, also there is a number of total messeges in bottom of Outlook window and they all are correct but I cant see any email - there is no filter applied or something.
When I open OWA I can see and open all messeges in their Inboxes.
That's not all :)
All new messeges - that came after cleaning can be seen both by Outlook and OWA.
It is not a problem of blank emails (many posts on EE). I just don't see them.
It looks like some indexes or something got damaged.
I didnt use eseutil yet.
Any suggestions?

Highlight "Inbox" folder in your Outlook, Go to View Menu - Arrange By - Current View - "Unread Messages in this folder"

It should show you all un-read messages in your "Inbox" folder.

thanks,

Can you try to search for the messages (using the "Find" function)?
If you can find them like that, you could move them to a temporary folder and then move them back to the inbox.
If you can't find them, you can try the same through OWA.

Cheers,

Maurice

To AA230002 - it did show unread messeges but when I change view back to "Messages" situation goes back: only see messages since the cleaning. Even when I choose other views it doesnt work.

Its definetely an Outlook view issue, Just make sure that anyother filter on view is not there. There might be a sorting done on date / subject or some other column, which is moving your messages out of the view.

Thanks,

To MNH1966.
Search works. When I move found message from Inbox to Test and back to Inbox message can be seen.

Any suggestions? - it doesnt smiles to me moving all messages across folders.

Close Outlook.
Then click start, run and type:

outlook.exe /CleanViews

That should reset the views back to their default.

Does the problem follow the user to another machine?
If you can see everything in OWA, then Outlook is the problem - but you need to see if it is mailbox or machine.

isinteg could fix the problem, but it seems to me a more intrusive option then moving messages back and forth, especially if it only involves 2 users.
If you do want to try it, syntax should be:

isinteg -pri -fix -test folder, mailbox

If that doesn't work, you could try:

isinteg -pri -fix -test allfoldertests
