Javascript to update gridview

Hi, how do i use javascript to update parts of a datagrid...upon on a click of the button. what i am trying to achieve is no postback for this action.

    u have to call a client side javascript on the action where u wish the postback should not happen .. this javascript function can return a "false" so that the postback dioes not occur after testing ur desired condition ..

    have a look at this site for loads of examples on gridview ..

    hi...i can do the no post back...but i just need to know to get the javascript function to change the gridview as when callback it will call a javascript function.

    change the view on the client side?? but grids are finally rendered as tables .. what do mean by changing the view .. y can't that be acheived at the server side itself?
