web.config in virtual directory

help!

I have a web site configured in iis6 with aspnet 20

I have copied another application into this website. Added a folder 'app2' in the website and created it in iis as a standalone application
This 'app2' has its own web.config, but still the system tries to read from the root web.config!

What shall I do?

yes i did and i found it out myself

the trick was to clear all the unnecessary modules and handlers from the root project
