Hi there,

I know that it's possible to get the modem logs from a pc, but what i need to know is if's it's possible to get a record of when the pc was powered on and off.  Also if the append to log box wasn't ticked is it possible to get the logs in win98?  A cliente of ours is in a dispute with the phone company who have given them a huge bill and they need to prove when the pc was on and/or on the internet.

Any Help much appreciated.

Kind regards,

Karen

without any logging software activated prior to the access, you won't get anything.

Perhaps you can request a log from the ISP.

The ISP is the phone company!  Is there no such thing as a log that shows when the pc was turned on and off?  If so where.

Thanks

Unlike W2k or XP, there is NO event viewer (logging system) in Windows 98.

If the bill is THAT large from the ISP...perhaps find another provider would be more prudent.

thanks for your help.  we all here wish that were so, we're in spain and the there is only one national telephone company.  not many options open for us poor internet users!!  while other isp's offer internet they all run over the telefonica network, hence free dial up charged by them.

basically then other than the modem append log, there is no way for them to be able to prove when they were online.
:(  oh well, it was worth a try.

Thanks for your help
