The system process c:winnt\system32\lsass.exe terminated unexpectedly with status code 128

Let me give you a brief idea of whats happening :
The server was shipped to me pre configured by my colleague in UK with an IP address
I changed the IP to as my router could not be configured for the other subnet.
The DNS and the active directory had to be reconfigured. Everything works fine..but just out of the blue i keep getting this error message "The system process c:winnt\system32\lsass.exe terminated unexpectedly with status code 128" and the system restarts in 60 seconds.
The even log shows the same erro repeated many times :
Date : 29/05/2006            Source : LsaSrv
Time: 13:29:09                Category: Security Package Manager
Type: Error                      Event ID: 5000
User : N/A

The security package Negotiate generated an exception. The exception information is the data.

I first suspected it to be a virus issue probably a sasser variant, but after thouroughly checking I had to rule it out.I think I may have messed it up by changing the IP address and really cant figure out how to fix this issue.

Oh yes let me just add in this point that we want to use terminal services for rdp. I am able to successfully connect to it thru rdp but thats when it gives this error and shuts down.
Just as i was typing restarted..and there were no rdp sessions...i'm confused..  :(

Would really appreciate if I can get some feedback on this...Its URGENT..

Thanks in advance..

Thats good!! :) one small question on what basis you allocated the grading B for this solution? did you expected detailed explanation about the problem and its solution?

Honestly i dont mind whether you grade me A or B or C as long as it helped you. If it solved your problem completely then you have to grade properly. I had a very personal experience when i asked a question and graded B for the solution for one of the expert when i was very new to this site. :) anyways no worries.

have a look at my experience

well.. to be frank...i had solved the problem before u posted the solution.. but yes u were bang on target. the problem was solved after i did the windows update and this update was included.
i had done a lot of research to solve this particular issue and i had come across this update. But i had not implemented it immediately coz when i consulted with my colleague in UK (who had sent the server preconfigured), he said that the problem is coz i changed the IP address of the server. I couldnt believe it , but took no chances as he is much more experienced and more knowledgable than I am.
I did face a lot of problems after I changed the IP, as it was hardcored..i started getting errors related to DNS, AD, Exchange....just about everything..!!! I worked on the errors one by one and did fix them all.. I just hope things work fine and it doesnt give me more problems..

ne ways thanks a lot once again for responding...and sorry for not giving an A grade.. :)
