Kaspersky Anti-Virus - Experts Rating ?

I am considering getting rid of my Norton Antivirus and instead start using  Kaspersky, and wonder....

1) Does anyone have any experience of using Kapersky Antivirus ? Is it any good ?

2) If using Kaspersky together with Norton Internet Security - will there be any conflicts ?

Greetings, herbalifeexpert !

1) Kaspersky Anti-Virus is a very good antivirus. Here are some other users' rating
http://fileforum.betanews.com/review/1008918303/1/view

2) NIS conflicts with many programs.  There is no known issue between Kaspersky and NIS. Make sure the antivirus part of NIS is not installed or turned off.

Best wishes!

Kaspersky is a very wise decision to switch into. It is the best scanning engine out there!
Some antivirus can detect viruses but couldn't remove all that they detected.

When Bube infection surfaced early last year, none of any antivirus free trials could remove it, ONLY Kaspersky free trial was the one able to fix Bube infection.
IMHO, Kaspersky is the best out there! though it only comes second in the top ten antivirus, that is mainly because BitDefender is a good deal moneywise.

I'm not a fan of Norton Internet Security, but if it was me I would get rid of NIS and have Kaspersky antivirus and just use the free firewall from Zone Alarm.

Anyway, as long as you have Kaspersky that is a great move!

Hi, I have just last saturday made the switch from norton (internet security 2005) to kaspersky (internet security 6) and i have to say it is much beter! The first time I scanned my system with kaspersky after uninstalling norton it found 19 objects which included trojans and spyware which nortons didn't find. It has its Proactive defence which stops potential viruses before kaspersky produce an update.

And what rpggamergirl said, it is the best scanning engine out there! As with all antivirus software, it is always recommended that you only have one running at the same time as it will cause conflicts (although there are none curently known).

Also the kaspersky interface is alot cleaner than norton and easier to configure. It is very user friendly, and simple to use. The only downside for me, is the time it takes to scan the system. The first time took 23 hours!! Which i thought was a bit rediculous, but i read somewhere that after the first scan, it only scans files that have been changed since the last scan which will greatly improve the speed. This was also on a pretty slow laptop with slow processor so it couldnt be helped. I'd expect it to run alot faster on a PC with decent CPU.

Hope it helps,
Ding-dong
