Receive mails from Multiple Email Accounts

Greetings Experts,

I have Lotus Notes 7 set up. Currently I receive e-mails from different accounts in different mailboxes ( I have set up locations for each account so everytime I want to check my email I have to switch locations).  I was wondering if I could make a "universal" location or something of that sort which will receive emails from all accounts and put them in their own mailboxes(database). I.E. MyISP.nsf, Mywork.nsf etc.

Hmm... not that I know of, if the accounts are mixed notes, non-notes, i.e. Pop Mails.

No, but you can do subscriptions and then put the subscriptions database on your welcome or start page.  If each of the databases allows subscriptions, and you are in the access control list, then you can subscribe to each, using the "one global" id and location.  When you open your location, the subscriptions will update and you will get a listing of new emails.

Look at database subscriptions in Notes Help.

umm how about involving Domino in the mix? Anything I could do on the Domino side to retrive mail from different accounts in different boxes?
My problem is... I just leave Lotus on in the background and don't want to worry about it untill it tells me I have a new mail.
Other than Subscriptions, most you can do is forward mail from the person doc in the NAB to the same database.   Then it all goes to one box, and your client will tell you when you have mail.

You can use rules to detect which mail was  addressed to which box/name, and put it into folders.

Sorry, that's all I have.:)

The client only expects to run one mail database, and will only alert you on one.

Let's see, on the Notes side, when I had HelpDatabase, NotesHelp, Network Help, etc.
I would configure newsletter agents to be sent - so when NotesHelp received email, the Notes Team would get a newsletter once an hour.

You can do this on each mail file, and use simple agent to select when you want to be notified.

Domino on a Linux-server? Use fetchmail to retrieve mails from POP-accounts. There must be similar utilities for Windows servers.
sjef, slap-slap-slap-slap... ah, awake now?  multiple notes databases... you know, like my mail, it mail, network mail, helphdesk mail, the HR questions mail.  All .nsf databases.  Anything i n 7 to get notifications on more than one notes database?
Why the spanking, at this early hour? And who'se talking about notifications? Are you awake??
> ... which will receive emails from all accounts and put them in their own mailboxes(database) ...
This is server functionality, so you'd need a Domino server to handle multiple mail databases.

You've misunderstood her question.. read the second post - she/he has notes open and wants his/her alarm to go off when any of the email accounts gets mail regardless of which Id he/she is logged in with.
Hm. I saw that, but it didn't trigger "notification" with me.

IMHO, that functionality doesn't exist, but such a utility could be developed, in C or VB or whatever. Or just a local agent?

Well, I was thinking subscriptions and maybe triggering an alert on that.. Or you can have client opened to one, notes minder set to another, and Notes Buddy set to a third.  Wonder if Notes Buddy will check three boxes?

TOL: if server were running POP3, then you could use the links that sjef provided, or MS OUTLOOK as pop3.

Other than that, subscriptions or just open the mail files. :)

@ maryling - I'm a he btw...

I guess the only solution that would work in this case is what sjef_bosman said

"Forwarding it all to the same database, then switch locations when answering these mails?"

I guess I'll just have to get everything to work in one database...  Thanks for your help guys....  Oh btw anyone knows when the next version of Notes is going to be released? It looks pretty sleek!
Kuljeet912 , pardon me , I usually do the he/she thing, and there's nothing in your profile to indicate he or she.

You can do sjef's, as long as you remember to change locations to answer.  My boss asked me to rig something like this, and I said, "ARE YOU SURE?"  Well, he poo-poo'd me until he wrote some sarcastic remark back  to someone thinking he was logged in to the "anonymous" mail file.  He wasn't.

:))

But, whatever makes you happy!
It's strange but such a simple utility (it seems simple anyway) for Notes doesn't exist, at least, I can't find it on the Internet. Might be a small OpenNTF project...
