Importing a video clip on to an already constructed Flash file

Here's the deal:

I've got a completed Flash movie that I've created in Flash 5. I've "updated" it into Flash 8 and now I want to leverage Flash's ability to play a video file, but I'm running into some questions.

I've created a flv file. Is that necessary? I don't know, but that's what I want, only I want it in the context of my already created webpage / flash movie. I want to import that "skin" etc on to my already created file so I've got the aesthetics and everything else. Question is, how?

I've attempted to import the video directly on to my fla file and I'm being confronted with QuickTime parameters and I don't want that.

I'm sure this has a very basic answer, but I'm stuck and I would appreciate any help.

Thanks!

I'm not sure I understand your question.
I think what you want is to publish you Flash file as a swf and import it instead of a flv. Flv is mostly user for video.

Hi
If you want to embed the FLV inside you flash movie then you have to import it (Ctrl+ R) and then choose the flv file
next page choose "Embed video in SWF and play in timeline"

it'll embed the flv inside the timeline of the flash file

I've done what Ramy suggested, but now I'm frustrated because I had a Script running on the first scene that provided a little animation as things were loading. When I go to export the whole thing, it starts but then it looks as though something is getting hung up and I'm wondering if I'm doing something wrong.

Any suggestions?

Hi
is it completely stopped or just a delay ?
if it just stopped , then there must be something in the code ... if it is just a delay , maybe the video is so large and it takes a while to load it ..
hard to tell without looking into the fla
