How can i fax from my dial up fax modem.

You need software that supports sending fax over the modem.

Configure the software to dial the other fax number and tell the software what document you want to fax.

WinXP comes with faxing software.  It is not installed by default.  Go to Settings --> Control Panel -->  Add/Remove Programs --> Add/Remove Windows Components and then select Faxing Services.

Umm, what do you mean?  I have never used it, but I am looking at it and for the most part you say send fax and fill in the blanks when the wizard launches.
