Vsftpd + PAM + dlopen error.

Hi Experts,

I ran into some trouble setting up vsftpd for virtual users. I am running SUSE Linux. Everything set up i tried to log in with the virtual user name and password and get a login failed message. I checked the message log and saw the following.

May 30 07:04:33 defiant vsftpd: PAM unable to dlopen(/lib/security/pam_userdb.so)
May 30 07:04:33 defiant vsftpd: PAM [dlerror: /lib/security/pam_userdb.so: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory]
May 30 07:04:33 defiant vsftpd: PAM adding faulty module: /lib/security/pam_userdb.so

Please help.

Cheers

as I see you configured your vsftpd server to use PAM authentication and it seems you either don't have it installed or it's not properly configured. I never used vsftpd but I guess there should be some other authentification protocols available in the configuration file.

The beauty is that pam_userdb.so is there under /lib/security

OOPS. Problem solved. I just found the correct pam_userdb.so this one should be under /lib64/securty as i am using 64 bit processor.
