User Permission

Hi I am new to linux and have just installed it on my laptop!

I have notice that on my username i cannot run alot of things like cfdisk and iwconfig unless i login as SU

Is this normal or acan i give my username SU permissions or something like that????

This is normal - in linux, most users do NOT configure themselves to be administrators be default - you can use su to switch users OR you can use sudo to run a single command as the super user.  (sudo needs to be installed and configured first).
