Missing .res file?

I just added {$R *.res}  to my code so that it will auto increment the build version number and now when I compile or build it says it's missing a .res file. What is this and how do I fix it? It's not incrementing yet and I'm guessing it has to do with this .res file.

auto increment the build version has nothing to do with .RES.

To enable auto increment go to Project, Options Menu. Goto Version Info Tab check Include Version information in project, Check Auto-increment build number.

Figures, stupid help file. It said to add that for it to work. Now it's fine.

Thanks!

The {$R *.res} means that include *.RES (resource file).

Delphi complains if the .RES file is not there. You need not to include this file if you are not using any external resource file.

Thanks, the help file was kinda misleading about it.
