Unable to initialize the voice player

Hello all,

In my company everyone reviews their voicemails through Outlook using Avaya Unified Messenger.

One user gets this strange error when trying to listen to a voicemail message:

"Unable to initialize the voice player. Not enough storage space is available to complete this operation. (0x8007000e)"

I've tried researching the answer to this problem but to no avail. Does anyone have a solution ? I need an answer fast.

Thank you

Is this Windows XP Service pack 2?

If so check to see if Windows Firewall is enabled, if it is, disable it or modify it as per your company policy.

If the firewall is not the issue, check to see if you are using version 1.1 or 2.x, if thats the case  download a security patch from Avaya:

ftp://ftp.avaya.com/incoming/Up1cku9/tsoweb/mm/MMClientTool_XP_SP2.msi

This problem is documented in:
http://support.avaya.com/japple/css/japple?temp.documentID=282102&temp.productID=162774&temp.bucketID=162024&PAGE=Document

Hope this helps

Most or all machines in our company should now be updated to SP4 since we conducted an extensive service pack rollup. Will the patch still work ?

Service pack 4 what? Windows XP only goes to SP2, is your site running windows 2000 instead?

Let me hypothesize:
Your site runs Windows 2000 across the board, but the problem computer is actually running Windows XP
- Then yes, use the security patch

Your site runs Windows 2000 across the board
- Then the security patch may help, but I would read the article then go into the one machine and check
   the DCOM security settings

Your site runs Windows XP across the board
- Then you are not at Service pack 4, check to see what actually got updated in case it is interfering with Avaya,
also, check all firewall settings: some service packs have a tendency of turning them back on.  While you are
at it check for 3rd party firewalls from antivirus vendors such as Norton or McAffee

Cheers,
