Yes, you can select the font because I have it installed on my client. I also have the font on the server. However, I am assuming that you can have it only installed on the server and it still should work because it would render the font in the PDF. Any ideas?

Actually, I don't think it has anything to do with Acrobat because it is CR producing the pdf rather than anything to do with Adobe itself. Somehow the font isnt being embedded into the CR pdf.

I have a specific font I want to use in my Crystal Reports 9. My current CR exports out to a PDF file. I am not quite sure how to embed it in the PDF file. I have installed the fonts on the server and locally on the client and they still do not appear in the PDF file. In fact, I cannot get them to even appear as the font when I try and display it as a Crystal Report. Can someone please help?

Embedding fonts in Crystal Reports

A font is a particular size, weight and style of a typeface. Each font is a matched set of type, one piece (called a "sort") for each glyph, and a typeface consists of a range of fonts that share an overall design. With the advent of digital typography, font is frequently synonymous with typeface, although the two terms do not necessarily mean the same thing. In particular, the use of "vector" or "outline" fonts means that different sizes of a typeface can be dynamically generated from one design. Each style may still be in a separate "font file" -- for instance, the typeface "Futura" may include the fonts "Futura roman", "Futura italic", "Futura bold" and "Futura extended" —- but the term "font" might be applied either to one of these alone or to the whole typeface.

Fonts Typography

Crystal Reports is a business intelligence application from SAP SE. It is used to graphically design data connections and report layouts from a wide range of data sources including Excel spreadsheets, Oracle, SQL Server databases and Access databases, BusinessObjects Enterprise business views, and local file-system information. Report designers can place fields from these sources on the report design surface, and can also deploy them in custom formulas (using either BASIC or Crystal's own syntax), which are then placed on the design surface. Crystal Reports also supports subreports, graphing, and a limited amount of GIS functionality.
