SAP carrer advice...

Hi SAP Experts,

Let me introduce myself, i am nyee and had a diploma in IT from singapore and got a hons degree in Bsc Information Systems from  UK also. i got a job as .net program in  a MNC in singapore and pursuing my carrer as a programmer. I am 22 yrs old and had 1 year experiece in .net programming .

I am basically from india and had plan to go to india to study in an authorized SAP institute in india.

In india, course fee for both techical(abap) and function module are the same and since i my background in techical, i would like to start as a technical consultant and moving forward want to become a techno functional consultant.

I would like to get certified as ABAP consulant and need to learn BW and netweaver from unauthorized institutes also,

i understand ABAP will obsolete soon and java will take over the technical side so my hard earned money which i am going to invest for my ABAP certification will be waste and came to understand that BW and Netweaver dont have much opportunities in singapore.

Are we able to secure a SAP trainee position once after we complete the SAP course from authorized centers? I dont know in USA? What about in india? Any chances??? Pls advice  Kindly elucidate the learning curve for BW,ABAP,Netweaver...  Are we able to digest the process  by a simple training or with a cerification carriculam.. pLS advice.

ABAP is not being replaced by Java.
Rather Java is being used as well as ABAP.

Personally i would suggest learning ABAP and Java and getting experience in XI or Portals.
You can't hope to learn all of these BW,ABAP,Netweaver

hi there

first of all if u have the money u can attend authorized training center of sap in india which charges around 2 to 3 lakhs for technical consultant training in sap basis, biw, crm, netweaver. and u will be eligible to give the certification with paid fees and get certified which would get u jobs abroad also as ur certified.

if u are attending the unauthorised trainings u will shell out only 10000 rupees and will learn them but u will need to work for two years of experience which sap this is qualifying to get certified.thats the disadvantage. otherwise the requirement is so huge that people are getting fake experience and getting jobs as technical consultants.

so the decision is yours payup the fees sap asks for and be peacful for ur life as u have done the right thing and got a good job.

or pay 10000 and learn it and earn ur job.

choice is urs

i prefer the first one if i have money as it has a better leverage abroad.

Jonvaughan is correct. ABAP is not being replaced by Java.
SAP has just brought out Web Dynpro for ABAP in WAS 7 that will be used to do web development for the SAP Portal.
You can also use Java Web Dynpro.

So I would also recommend learning ABAP and Java then getting some XI and Portals experience and would include Webflow.

With regards to certification you could do the studies on your own or through an unauthorized training center and then just register and write the certification.

Hope this helps.
