formating cells in excel with vb.net code

does anybody know how to format an entire columb of cells to a desired date format using vb.net tools with a windows application.

Once you have created a reference to the active worksheet all you need to do is

myActiveWorksheet.Range("a:a").NumberFormat = "dd.mmm.yyyy"

Range("a:a") selectes the whole of column A.

thanks for this it has been bugging me so much. i know it seems like a bit of a sad issue to have such a big deal with but i am very gratefull cheers
