VBSendMail component

Experts/herreruud,

Hi,
I have used the free VBSendMail component, which herreruud had recommended once upon a time from http://www.freevbcode.com/ShowCode.Asp?ID=109.

It worked fine internally. This is the first time i use it externally. From within my network that uses SMTP and a Firewall, it never reached a hotmail account!

Although i have specified the SMTPHost property to our IP, it still doesn't work to hotmail!

Any Ideas?

Perhaps try pointing it to use your ISP's SMTP server.

Do you mean, you wanna use Hotmail server as the SMTP server?

That's impossible because Hotmail doesn't support SMTP and POP3 at all. That doesn't mean you can not send an Email to your hotmail account; That means you can NOT send an Email to anywhere from your Hotmail account via SMTP. If you can find a public SMTP server which you have access permission to, you can just set it as your SMTPHost, and you can use it to send email to anywhere.

Hi everyone,
It was a relay problem. I have no experience in this. My admin solved it for me.
I'm gonna split the points :)
Thanks!
