Outlook 2000 - Saving my contact list from a corrupt outlook.pst file
My PST stopped working. I needed to recover it so I used scanpst and Pst2gb.exe to repair the file. I got it up and running, cleared out about 800MB of and compacted folders to shrink the email file down to about 1.2GB. Now my contact list in this new file is corrupted, no email addresses, the contacts are showing up blank. What I want to do is somehow copy the contacts from my original PST (corrupt) file to my new PST file. Is there a way to copy these contacts without opening it in Outlook?

You could re-try to recover the contents of the original pst but reduce only about 0.2gb off the overall size and recheck. Otherwise AFAIK its not possible.

will the trial of these programs do the trick, or do i need to buy this software.
I am not sure about the trial software whether it will recover the data. If the data is iimportant to you, you may need to purchase the program to recovery the data.

I will try pst2gb.exe again first and trim less off the original. If that doesnt work I will try these trials.

OK, i have recoved the outlook.pst file, but the contacts are all showing up blank without email addresses or names, is there any way to recover that?

fenety, are you able to recover the contacts addresses?

I could not recover the contact from this pst file. I found a old backup of this pst file and got most of the contacts from it. I didnt try this trial software, I think I would of needed to purchase it to get full use out of it. Some of these things you suggested maybe could of worked but I needed to find the quickest solution possible. Thankyou.
