"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

I'm not sure that you can. However, you should be able to save the virtual machines and then uninstall the trial and reinstall the licensed version, then import the virtual machines back.

I would also suggest backing up the virtual machine hard drives to a DVD or another location during this, just to be absolutely certain you don't lose anything.
You should install the product again using the license key you got from Microsoft.  The virtual machines will be unaffected by this installation.

Could you provide a link to VMWare - I've heard that before but couldn't find it.
The free one is still in beta

I know the virtual server 2005 R2 is free but i found it difficuilt to use as I had problems with it.  One of them asking me that server could not start as I have no permissions etc.... also it is specifically for server OS while my purpose is to install XP over XP professional for some tests.
Please guide how to install virtual machines in VSR2.
