backing up data on a workgroup.

backing up data on a workgroup 4 Pcs.

I really like the software
http://www.2brightsparks.com/syncback/sbse.html
I will be using the free version.

Ive decided on a large USB drive and will be having fun over the weekend in a dusty office.
Total amount of data will be small - about 2 gig.

Anyone any advise before the dreaded weekend Ive to do this.  Its just Ive used the software before but not on this amount of PCs at the one time.
Im going to test the scheduling as well, never timed an auto back up before.

Anly advice I can give is stager the schedule so no 2 computers are backing up at the same time.

Get free NFR key for Veeam Availability Suite 9.5

Veeam is happy to provide a free NFR license (1 year, 2 sockets) to all certified IT Pros. The license allows for the non-production use of Veeam Availability Suite v9.5 in your home lab, without any feature limitations. It works for both VMware and Hyper-V environments

since you're doing it on the weekend... how about pre-installing the software now to cut your time on the weekend.

I wont be onsite til the weekend.

Ive just tested the automated timed backup and its sweet.

The only issue I can for see is that say there is a share on the desktop that maps to another PCs data (that I will be backing up anyway)
Will the SW attempt to back up the data thats on that mapped drive?

This would be duplicating the back up.

I'm not sure, I don't know that SW.  You may want to set it to skip that share to avoide problems.

Users tend to have share links sitting on their desktops.

I think the answer is to say Im backing up "my docs" only on each PC anything on desktop will not be backed up.  That takes care of that.

you may want to ask the users for their login passwords...  I find that most jobs like this...I get stumped by the simple thing of loggin in.

admin password is the best.
