Hi motioneye,
Logon to the pc with an admin account but different to the one that you want to change. Rename the profile to say - userold, Login with the user account that you want to delete the profile of an da new one will be created. Move over any existing settings and file you want to the relevant folders in the new profile ie desktop, mydocuments. Once happy delete the old profile. If you got any access problems you may need to take ownership of the profile - properties, security - advanced - owner - change owner to your admin account and replace owner on sub folders and files.

Hi,
I'm trying and windows pop up an error, access id denied, make sure the is not full or write protected, and that the file is not currently in use
Try deleting the old profile in safe mode.
Hi,
It was becoz Index.dat lock by explorer.xex , I found this when I run handle.exe, so how do I release this index.dat?
Even in safe mode?
No I havent try in safe mode, I will try it later when there is no production running, this is really critical server that can be stop without any reasons
Just kill the Explorer.exe process on the server, this will only impact the current sessions and explorer will restart itself, but the lock on the file will be gone.
Take back of necessary data in other folder then delete his profile in c:\documents settings\User profilename

then relogin same username it will create automatically user profile. if your not able to delete his/her profile use kill box software using this you can delete any file or folder . download killbox software from the following link

the user cannot be using his profile when you rename it or try to copy it,

HAve them log off, rename the profile, and when they log back on, they will build a new profile. Have them logoff, and then you can then copy appropriate parts (desktop) from their old profile to their new profile.

Good Luck,
Hi Redwulf__53

I'm kill all the explorer.exe, and suddenly all the desktop is gone, so I relogoff and use other account to login, still I dont see any icon in desktop...
