Google listing has all but disappeared

A month ago, Google "site:www.ourdomain.com" produced a listing of over 100 pages.  Now only the home page is listed.  I haven't come up with any plausible explanation for this. We upload our site map regularly and are not aware that we have done anything naughty.  Can anyone offer any insights please?

Thanks.

hi  MichaelSacher,

look here: http://www.experts-exchange.com/Web/Online_Marketing/Q_21858855.html

most have been seeing the same, as long as your sites were up to standard (SEO etc) they WILL come back. many of ours went 2, all of them our back now, some doing better then before. lasted about 2 weeks with us.

have a read, hope it helps :)

Thanks for your comment.  I only hope that we did not mess things up by trial subscribing to Atlas Intellidex service.

Hi Michael,

Along with waiting to see if Google brings back your pages, and they probably will as long as no other current factors have changed on your site to inhibit, you might want to login to your Google Sitemap account and check on the status of your sitemap.

For example, you can click on 'Diagnostics' and learn all about the crawling procedure of Google to your site.  This includes: HTTP errors, Unreachable URLs, URLs restricted by robots.txt, URLs not followed and URLs timed out.

In addition, you can also see how Google analyzes your pages and your robots.txt file and provides statistics of what happens when Google visits your site and the last time Google downloaded your sitemap.xml file.

Your Google Sitemap account can be very valuable to see how things are going from Google's end in visiting your site.

Hi Mark,

I've checked over these pages however they still don't really shed any light on why the pages listed have gone from >100 to just one (our home page).  Yahoo and MSN list far more of our pages.

Thanks.
