NVL Equivalent in Query of Queries

I am doing a query of queries and would like to use the Oracle equivalent of NVL(column,value) but apparently QoQ does not support this...is there something equivalent that can be put into the CF SQL to accomplisih the same thing...is there a guide to CF SQL syntax and functions
