Resizing Frames with onmouseover event

In a frame is loaded a nav bar with drop down menus.  Apparently it is impossible to go across frames with these menus so they get hidden behind the lower frame in the frameset.  With javascript how would I resize the window on the event that the mouse goes over a dropdown menu that extends beyond the frame.  I can hard code it for only those menus whose lengths are too long or is there a genral way?

How do I do this with just  a single frame?  Not a frameset.
