Excel 2003 issue

A user opens Excel 2003 and they get the error message C:\Program Files\Common Files\Crystal Decisions\2.5\bin\crexcel_en.xla cannot be found.  Check the spelling of the file name and verify that the file location is correct.  The user will then click on OK and they can open the Excel file.  They do not have Crystal installed on their system and they never did.  There are no errors in Event Viewer and they are current will all updates and have not had any new software or hardware installed.  Any assistance offered would be greatly appreciated.

Go to HELP - DETECT & REPAIR...

if that doesn't work.. then reinstall - repair EXCEL

if that doesn't work...then reinstall Excel.

Also.. apply the latest service pack

Hi regsamp,
----------

detect and repair will not help neither will a reinstall

the error is pointing to an xla for a Crystal Decisions
if you did use this but not aymore uncheck it in Excel

1. open excel
2. choose Tools, Click Add-Ins
3. See if the crystal addin is listed and uncheck it
4. close excel and restart excel to test
