getElementById, innerHTML - works in FF, not IE

Hi,

Any ideas why the function below works in Firefox and not in IE?

function printMatrix(){
      document.getElementById('imageMatrix').innerHTML = '<tr><td><h1>Hello</h1></td></tr>';
}

The FF console isnt showing any errors in the JavaScript, but IE is reporting a 'Unkown runtime error' - thanks for the help Redmond!
