Connecting to MetaFrame through proxy server

I've got an InstaGate PRO configured as a proxy server on my end that I have full control over. There's an application hosted by another company that runs on a MetaFrame server, I don't know what flavor or version. I have no control over the MetaFrame server and I'm not a Citrix admin.

A user on my end tries to launch a hosted application from a web page. The Citrix client starts and the user is prompted to authenticate to the proxy server. I've verified that proxy server correctly checks in with a RADIUS server on my network and authenticates the user.

The connection fails with the message "Cannot connect to the Citrix MetaFrame server. Proxy connection failed: The configured proxy server refused to establish a connection"

I've verified that port 1494 is on the proxy server's allowed ports list. If I remove 1494 I get the same error. I haven't been able to confirm that they are using the default port (is this discoverable from my end?).

Any ideas?

They are probably using Citrix Secure Gateway which will require some additional configurations on their end for your proxy server.  From the website, instead of launching the application right-click on it and choose "Save Target As..".  Save this file (launch.ica) to your computer and then open it with notepad.  There will be a line in the file that starts with:

Address=

Post the rest of that line so I can see.  It will either be an IP Address or some jumbled characters

Sigh...

It's not the answer I was hoping for but...

I just hope the other guys are willing/able to work with me. I don't have a lot of confidence in them. Maybe I'll come up with some exotic scheme to bypass the proxy server based on IP.

Thanks!
