Drop Down Boxes - links to other pages within website

In the browser preview, when I click on any item in my drop down box it takes me to a Documents and Settings page where there is listed an icon linking to every document I have linked in my website.  This is not what I want, I want the drop down box selection to go directly to the page in my website, but I am not sure what I am doing wrong....

I set up the drop down boxes using Behaviours, and when it says 'type the URL associated with the menu item' in the Value box, what I want is to have an automatic link to a different page in my website, so when I browse and select my page, the following goes into the Value box (this is an example of one): "file:///C:/Documents and Settings/lnassihi.SFORS/My Documents/My Web Sites/gmhandbook4/gm_orientation.htm".

My question is (which I'm sure is a dumb one but I am very new to this!) how do I get a direct link?  Do I need some kind of "http://www" at the front?  How do I make it a URL?  None of my drop down box links are working....help!!

in the value box just type in the name of the file you want to display - relative to where you are
if the webpage with dropdown boxes is in the same folder as the pages you want to navigate to - just type in the page name you want to navigate to
this is called relative referencing - and is preferred to using the whole site name (which is called absolute referencing)
it is preferred in case you want to move the page or publish it to a different site or use a site alias
a site alias is like when you have http://www.mydomain.com and http://www.mydomain.org both pointing to the same webpages
