Add a user as an administrator of only one pc

I have a windows 2000 server that is a membor of my domain but not a DC.  I want to give administrator rights to just that one box to a person without making that person administrator of all boxes in the domain.  How can this be done?

add his user account to the local administrators group on that machine

You could simply create a local user account and put it in the administrators group, or power users broup and allow that user Remote Desktop control.
Then the person could Remote Desktop into the Computer with whatever username / password you want and controll it remotely
He would also be able to sit down in front of it and log in.

Thats just it.  I cannot figure out/remember how to create local users if the computer is in the domain.

You go to computer management, under system tools, local users and groups.

Or you can run this from a command prompt on the server - where domain name is your domain name and username is - well the user you're wanting to add.

Net Localgroup Administrators "Domain_Name\username" /Add

DOH, Debsyl99 you posted the exact same command I was getting ready to post :)

The easiest IMHO :)
