Outlook Express error 1000 source qoe.dll
Recently OE quit on me.
Event viewer gave error 1000 with OE being the offending application and the process stopping at qoe.dll
I uninstalled CA virus software.
was able to start OE, but could not download any emails ("unknown error")
When OE is open, all folders appear ok except inbox -- cannot access
I tried uninstalling/reinstallling OE
Help?

Thanks, guys. I am working through this great set of lists. So far ng, but only tried first 3 items in first post. Busy as hell at work.

Your comments led me to conclude that the problem was either hardware (lan card) or basic XP issues. None of the fixes worked, and in addition to the OE issues, IE became unable to connect to any websites. Am now doing a clean install of XP and getting a replacement Lan card to see if that fixes it. If not, I'll be back.
The Inbox.dbx file could be corrupt. That may be the reason you could not open the Inbox folder.
