"system error &H8007007E (-2147024770)" with Form2 components

Hello

I swear my form2 components were working the other day, I've re-installed VB, i've unregistered and re-registered the fm20.dll file but nothing works.

The problem happens even on a totaly new project, I add the "Microsoft Forms 2.0 Object Library" component then add one of the components (e.g. a command button) to my blank form and I get this error:

"system error &H8007007E (-2147024770)"

Please helP!

thanks!

That error happens when you're missing VB runtime files. Sometimes an uninstaller will carelessly remove them. Anyway, sounds like a good time to download the latest versions: http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=bf9a24f9-b5c5-48f4-8edd-cdf2d29a79d5&DisplayLang=e

What does it mean to be "Always On"?

Is your cloud always on? With an Always On cloud you won't have to worry about downtime for maintenance or software application code updates, ensuring that your bottom line isn't affected.

I think the problem lies somewhere an application i made in vb (before i re-installed windows). I used visual studio installer to create a package to install it with (yes, it uses forms 2.0 controls) and I installed it on my computer. I think i didnt get the errror before i had installed it.

When using forms2 without office you need to install the file setuppad which contains the Microsoft Active X controls. Using forms 2 means that any distibuted application must be sent out with the setuppad.exe due to Microsoft licencing issues.

This file can be obtained from:
http://msdn.microsoft.com/library/default.asp?url=/library/en-us/dnaxctrl/html/cpad.asp

Remember not to compile the form2 activex into your application setup routine and to autorun setuppad on installation so you do not breach copyright.

Thats great thanks!! I changed to openoffice recently and your solution works perfectly, I'll give you the points,

but while your here, i don't suppose you know why i get an "ActiveX component can't create object" errror when i try to use office web components or excel.exe to create a chart??

I dont have office at all on my PC and i'd like to avoid it if i can

thanks loads!!

Why don't you use the chart active X control and msflexgrid to be a holder for the required datatable if the user is required to view this?
