Access Denied to user folder

Need good answer and quick

I have an account setup for me personally "JDoe" that has administrator permission.  On our terminal server, if I go to c:\documents and settings\SSmith I get an error saying "Access Denied"

If I try it using the "administrator" account it works fine.  I verified permission to the SSMITH folder and administrators do have full acccess.   I know it's not an ownership issue, I think it has something to do with traversal, but why wouldn't "JDoe" automatically get access and what's the proper way to ensure this doesn't happen?

Please note user JDoe cannot get into ANYONES folder other than his own, even though he is part of the administrator group but the user administrator can access everyones folder

Hi,

assign permission on the folder of user  JDoe .

Or assign the Administrator group user permsiion .

You are getting problem beacuse administrator and perticular user have permsiion but a administrator group user have not.

AdministratorS (the group), SYSTEM, and the individual user and FULL CONTROL to their subfolder

Just to clarify, if I go and add JDOE explicity to a users folder than I get access to it, but why doesn't it work when the administrators group has permission to a users folder since JDOE is an administrator???

If i give myself DOMAIN ADMIN rights then it works, just regular administrator group is not enough.....

Keep in mind this is a windows 2003 terminal server

Looks like solution was to

a. Give myself domain admin rights or

B. give myself admin rights to the TS box

If JDOE is a member of a group that you denied permissions to on that folder then JDOE will not be able to access that folder. I believe this is true.
