Live Communication Server 2005 and client connection / certificates

I am running Live Communication Server 2005 Enterprise Edition. I am having issues getting a client to connect with Office Communicator. When the client machine tries to sign in a get an error that says "Cannot sign in to communications service because the server is temporality unavailable".

The server is only setup to receive on TCP port 5060. I have tried to set it up with TLS on port 5061 but I cannot get it to accept any certificates. When I try to select the certificate that I created I get the following error "live communications server requires a certificate that has a key that can be used to encrypt/decrypt session keys".

I think that I need to get the TLS working with the certificate in order for me to get the clients connected, but I am not sure how.

Any help would be great, thanks.

if you the server is behind the router, you need to have portforward available to pass through 506x
what is the make & model of the router?

Nope it is on the same Lan as the server. I can telnet into the server on port 5060, also.
If you try to run the LCS admin console, does it works properly? Can you see domain / user properties?
Ive ended up removing Enterprise edition as it was a bit overkill for my application. I removed LCS Ent and setup LCS Standard. However I am now running into a new set of errors (fun!)

Anyone know how to fix this one? The LCS service starts for a min and then stops, this error shows up in the event log
