Triggering Quartz batch jobs

Hi everyone,
I have a list of scheduled batch jobs written with java and scheduled with quartz to run once a day, and running on Linux. How can I trigger one of those batch jobs to run whenever I need without having to wait for that prescheduled time?
Many Thanks,
Miss “B”

You'd have to proved an interface to the schedular that would initiate a job start on pressing a button or something.

I assume from your post that you dont have a 'foront'end' as such, in that Quartz controls when each program is to be executed, but each java job itself is comlpetly idependant of the Quartz shedular?

How do you add the jobs to Quartz? Is it through a UI youve created? (sorry, im not familiar with Quartz itself, but Ive worked with scheduled jobns before).

    Hi Colr,
Many thanks for ur comments. The jobs are scheduled in an XML file, with dates to run at, including the hours if it will run more than once a day. And yes you could have an action or some interface to trigger it from, but that will require hard coding java into the system. I just want to run it manually without having to add any java classes to do so.

Would the simplest option not be to add a "run once" rule at 2 mins from the current time for each job you want to manually run?

It would have made it much much easier, you would think. But unfortunately the system wasn’t developed by me.  And quite frankly I am not that keen on using batch jobs. I guess the only option as u have motioned is to have an UI somewhere to run it once.
    Many thanks again,
