loadMovie (Flash) inside Director will not work!

Hi,

I'm desperately in need of some help with Director and Flash, specifically trying to use "loadMovie" to load external SWFs into a master SWF file, all contained inside Director.

I have a fairly simple Flash SWF that is going to be loaded into my Director project. The SWF uses LoadMovie to load in additional SWFs to itself. The whole thing is going to be web-delivered and will therefore be output as a Shockwave DCR and all file locations will be HTTP-based.

I have a problem whereby loadMovie will not work when the SWF is used inside Director. Other people have said that it will work if I link to the external SWF file instead of doing a Standard Import. This is true, in part. In fact, it DOES work if I link the SWF as an external file and point to it's file-system location. However, this is no use to me as it does NOT work if I point to the http-based location, which of course I have to do, since it's going to be a web-delivered app.

Basically, the only options in terms of importing the 'master' SWF file are to do a linked import using the HTTP location of the file, or do a full Standard Import into the cast... but neither of these seem to allow me to use loadMovie. The only time loadMovie will work is by doing a linked import and pointing to the physical file location, but this is the only option that is not possible for me!

I'm an advanced developer, so I have no problems setting/changing between relative and absolute file paths as much as necessary, so is there a solution to this problem?
