"go to definition" gives me class view instead of the code!

This is really annoying me - if I right click on 'myClass' in the Visual Studio IDE  : Dim myClass as new myBaseClass -  it used to go straight to the base class code.

Now, it goes to the class view object browser everytime - arrghhhhhh - help!

    Accepted Solution

This may be due to one of many reasons:

    1) You are now using late binding instead of early binding... the IDE will therefore not know where to find the relevant code.

    2) You have lost your reference to the other class.

    3) You are using a file reference instead of a project reference.

Do you still have intellisense for that class?

If not, then the above may be one of the causes.
