Upgrading a Cisco PIX 515E

I need to upgrade my Cisco pix because I am at an older release however I have a restricted license.  Because of the restricted license the machine will need a memory upgrade BEFORE I can do the software upgrade.  Getting the memory is easy.  My question is this.  Will the change in memory effect the box and/or licenses in anyway.  Or is it as simple as shut it down change out the ram for the increased ram and then boot up?

    Accepted Solution

No, the memory does not impact upon your license. Yes, if the memory is compatible etc then a reboot should be all that is required.
