I have a domain: that is with a hosting provider.  I would like to add another domain name  and have it point to my own web server.  How difficult is this and what would be required to do this - I use Network Solutions for the register.

    Accepted Solution

Your domain should have a DNS associated with it, Network Solutions provide default DNS that you can use. It is defined in the domain administrative panel.

You must add an A record in the DNS pointing the name  to your IP address.
You must ensure that your web site recognizes the name, especially if it is hosted. Check it out with your hosting provider.
