I have a dell GX280 I need to add 2nd hardrive

For some reason, my computer is not finding my 2 hardrive on any jumper setting.  It's a dell optiplex gx280, it has a 2 SATA connection and only by switching the cables from my old to my new hardrive does it work...now....just so you know both hardrive are running OS's, but shouldn't it show up anyway?

SATA drives do not require jumpers for master and slave, but if these are SATA II drives, try setting the jumper on them to SATA I for compatability.  Also, try swapping the cable to the SATA connector on the motherboard - you may have a bad cable.  Check in the BIOS to see if the SATA controller is enabled for both.

Since your computer uses SATA drives jumpers will not do anything.  What OS's are you running.  I found this for have two Windows OS.

Also there was a lot of info for having a dual boot with Linux as well, just do a Google search of "dual boot on 2 sata drives"
