xp

Is it true that XP only allows us to install on one machine per one key?

VBdotnet2005,

It all depends on the type of license.  Some licenses are specific to even just one machine, like an OEM license, and can't even be transfered.  Microsoft does offer some licenses that will allow for installation on multiple computers.

If I can find a good reference site then I will provide a link.

The EULA (End User License Agreement) has information on installation rights.  If you are thinking about what was sometimes called the "laptop clause" (you could install on your laptop as well) then Windows XP does not have a clause like that.

P.S.  This Microsoft page seems to have information and details on various licenses and pricing options for Windows XP. (http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/pro/howtobuy/default.mspx)
