Dell GX620 Setup issue.. No Video

Hey all,
I have a really vexing issue.  The box is a brand new GX620, (2 GB Ram, 3.2 Ghz proc, 80Gb SATA HDD, External DVI Vid Card, 19inch LCD) whne I recieved it I uncrated it and booted it to an XP Pro Disk, partitioned the disk(2X40Gb) and installed Windows on 1 of the partitions.  Later after I crashed the machine(it's my test/sandbox machine) windows setup boots and runs the "Setup is now inspecting your hard ware..."line accross the screen and then nothing.  THe CD Drive spins down and nothing ever happens.

I have tried both with the onboard video and with the external video card with the same result.  I can install seemingly any other OS except Win XP.  Suse 10.1, fedora Core 5, Debian, Server 2K3, all load.  Not XP Pro.

Any Thoughts?

thanx

Turns out that the CD I was using was scratched, but it would only install after I ran a vista install.  I was able to boot to a different XP cd and all was well.
