opening an html file from cd

hi Experts (again).

I created 12 html files, 1 is called index.html and the remaining 11 are cat1.html to cat11.html.

index.html is used just as that - index.

From this index.html file, you can access any of the 11 other files.

Then there are 3 different image folders:

1 is called images, the other is called img and the last one is called small.

images has generic images.

small has thumbnail-like pictures. If you click on any of the small images, a larger image is invoked from the img folder.

All these work fine on my wwwroot directory on my c drive.

However, when I burned these files into a cd, none of the images will load. Can anyone, please tell me what I am doing wrong?

I need to get this to work by tomorrow. Any assistance is greatly appreciated.

These images below are not loading at all:

Hmm...looks mostly ok other than a few quoting issues, but they shouldn't be interfering. Can you post the hierarchy of the file structure? ie, do a dir /s and paste it here?

As stated, the code works fine in my wwwroot directory of my hard drive.

I only have the issues with the files in the cd.

Everything is copied to the root of the cd.

You basically have:

images folder
img folder
small folder
index.html
cat1.html
...
cat11.html

only the small is a subfolder inside img folder.

Does this help?

The problem is, nothing seems wrong. When you burn it to cd, can the image files themselves be opened from the cd? Have you tried this in more than one browser?

When you say, "more than one browser", do you mean trying it using another pc?

If yes, then yes, I tried it with my laptop and my desktop = same result.

No, I mean trying it in other browsers....I'm guessing you've only checked this in IE? Try firefox or Opera. Is IE showing the little red 'x' that it shows when images don't load? I'm thinking you have something else blocking the images from showing.

Funny thing is when I click on the individual files like cat1.html, cat2.html etc, all is well; the pages load fine, the images load fine.

Problem comes in when I try to do so through index.html.

There's some piece of information missing here... Can you post the content of cat1.html?

Well, I had to reach back to my early programming days to remember to use the "divide and conquer" rule.

I removed all codes and images and started little snippets at a time, and there was the little culprit, an image Iogo of the company. I replaced it with another logo and vavoom, all is well.
