Hi there all,

I am going to configure to Windows 2003 servers running Citrix Secure Gateway, both these servers will have 2 nic each. They will have an internal and external ip adress. Example:

Server1: 10.*.*.* and 212.*.*.*
Server2: 10.*.*.* and 212.*.*.*

Can I create a cluster using the internal ip adresses and will this work properly if i loose one off my external links?

    Accepted Solution

From which direction are the client requests coming from? External or Internal?

You can create a Network Load Balancing cluster with the two servers. You will need to install an additional NIC card to act as the private network (heartbeat) between the two servers so they know when to switch over to the other server if one goes down. If nobody is going to be on your private (internal) network and everyone accessing the servers is external, then you can use your internal NICs as your heartbeat network. Use Network Load Balancing Manager from Administrative Tools to set up a new cluster.
