Hi,
I did my thesis on disaster recovery, and created a best practices report for industry, which was then reviewed by industry. Had loads of info available.
Best thing is to:
A) choose a subject that has some interest to yourself, otherwise when the exams start rolling in and you have other course work to do, motivating yourself may be difficult (also if its an area you like, the chances are you might want to seek employment in that area aftyerwards, a thesis on that particualr area looks great at interviews.
B) Ensure the topic you choose not only has lots of info, but is a devloping area. If you choose a technology that is already very mature all youll really be doing is regurgitating (spelling?!?) what has already been done.
C) Whilst doing your research try to think out of the box, markers love to see that you understand the wider implications that the technology allows, but also an insight into how the technology will develop.
