Problem mapping drive. the user name you typed is the same as the user name you logged in with. That user name has already been tried. The domain controller cannot be found to verify that user name.

the user name you typed is the same as the user name you logged in with.  That user name has already been tried.  The domain controller cannot be found to verify that user name.

Only one user in the organization cannot access a particular share, and this occurred out of nowhere.  There are some DNS problems in the event log, but the user can ping the server by name and IP.  The above message is the one I've been getting.  Nothing seems to fix this issue.

Please help this is extremely urgent.  THanks.

Try putting the domain controller's IP as the first IP in the other computer's dns addresses.

what are the DNS errors in the event log?

If you login as another user, are you able to map drives without error?

If other users on this particular PC experience the same problem, try removing and then readding the computer to the domain.

You can also try logging on as username@domain.com or DOMAIN\username instead of just the username. But you should try the other two suggestions.
