Lotus Notes Client fails to start because ndgts.dll was not found

Hi all,

I had just upgraded my lotus notes client from 6.5.3 to 7.0 on my Windows XP Pro SP2 laptop, and now I get the following error:

"This application has failed to start because ndgts.dll was not found. Re-installing the application may fix the problem."

So I uninstalled 7.0, but continued to get the same error message. So I completely rei-installed Lotus Notes 6.5.3. But I still get the same exact error. Can anybody help me? I tried to copy the ndfts.dll from a different pc, but that didn't help at all. All that happens is that the error doesn't come up. Rather, I end up getting a nlnhook.exe error. It has been a very confusing day.

Please help!!!

I actually had a similar issue updatig one of my Domino Servers from R 5.013A to R 6.5.5

Renaming the DLL's solved the issue.

Renaming the DLL's didn't work for me. I didn't see the files that I was supposed to rename. I took the old fashioned route...

I was able to fix the issue by copying the entire c:\program files\lotus\*.* directory from a different PC onto my PC. Fortunately I had backed up my data folder before starting the process, so I was able to copy that folder back on to my PC also. Once I did that, and then reinstalled the Lotus Notes client, I was able to get back in.

    So far, no problems.
