Can a Cisco 1721 Router carry over settings to a Cisco 1841 Router using TFTP or is there an incompatibility issue between the series?  Any assistance offered would be greatly appreciated.

There are slight differences, mainly in the interface numbering. For instance on the 1721 you have FastEthernet 0 and serial 0
On the 1841 it is FastEthernet0/0 and serial 0/0/0
The good thing is that you can simply edit your existing file in wordpad before you push it to the 1841. Be sure to add "no shut" under the interfaces or you will have to go back and unshut them manually after pulling your hair out trying to figure out why it isn't working.
