Outlook not synchronised offline

On my work laptop when I disconnect from the network I don't see a synchronised view of my e-mails. For example the most recent e-mail in my inbox when offline is April 2006 but when online I have e-mails up to today.

I haven't received any errors or warnings to say it is not synchronised.
I have checked under send and receive setting that it say make this folder available offline.

Any ideas please?

Hi graham666,

What version of Outlook are you using?  Also, have you tried deleting your OST file and letting Outlook recreate it?

Cheers!

It is office 2003 and I haven't tried deleting the OST yet. Am I ok to delete it - i.e. could this affect anything else by deleting it - what else is stored in there?

David LeeCommented:
No, it won't affect anything else.  Your OST is a copy of what's on the server.  Outlook will simply make a new one.

Sorry for the delay in replying I have been on holiday. We examined the settings on two computers and found that on the one that was not updating there was a tick box unticked called "Used Cached Exchange Mode". Ticking this box has resolved the problem.

Thanks for your assistance it helped us understand the problem and look in the right area for a solution.
