Send Messages from another account and it store the sent item in that other accounts sent item

Hi all,

Question is, we use a general mailbox for people to send us mails relating to support and other stuff and we can send no problem from that user back out to the original sender, however when we do that although it is coming from the general mailbox it is storing it in our own sent items. So when we look in this mailbox we can see that somebody replyed to the mail but we cannot find out what they said without finding out which person it was and checking their own sent items.

There has got to be something simple to solve this and I would be very grateful for any assistance.

You would think there was a simple solution.

    There isn't one.

The only native solution is to change the default account to the generic mailbox. Outlook stores sent email in the default Sent Items folder, no where else.
I have heard reports of people using rules to mimic the behaviour, but I haven't found a reliable combination of rules that I am prepared to say work.

Otherwise it third party tools, something like this:

Are you opening the other mailbox as an additional box? I was under the impression that any sent items would stay in that account. Another option without resorting to 3rd party is to enable LDAP and have people connect to that account via that. I haven't done this on Exchange, but on other mail systems, it allowed everyone to see that a message had been read and replied too.

Have you added any additional mailbox in outlook profile .The user is sending mails and it is going from additional mailbox .If it will go from there then it will be stored in that mailbox sent items. If this is so Go to View option in outlook and select from field so that whenever you are sending mails you can select from which mailbox you want to send mails. If you will select your name in from field then it will go to your mailbox sent items otherwise in additional mailbox sent items.

Yeah we have the mailbox setup as an additional mailbox, it does send them from the other mailbox but stores them in your own sent items.
